WORKSHOPS > Animal
Tracking and Woods Awareness
Are
you continually perplexed by those tracks you see in the snow,
mud, or sand? Curious about what animal left those droppings in
the middle of the trail? Join us for a day of learning how to interpret
animal tracks and sign in the field. We´ll wander in search
of fresh tracks and sign to gain insights into the hidden lives
of the animals that left them. Along the way, we´ll also
share information about woods awareness, edible plants, and other
useful tidbits. Don´t be intimidated, even expert trackers
cannot always identify tracks and sign down to the exact species,
but we´ll provide knowledge and clues to narrow down the
list of possibilities and share our knowledge of natural history
and animal behaviors while in the field. Bring a field lunch, snacks,
water, and a notebook if you care to take notes or make sketches.
Wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes and be prepared for some moderate
off-trail hiking.

with Wilderness Survival for Beginners on 6/8 for a total of $100.
