WORKSHOPS > Waterfowl
by Sight and Sound
If
you don´t know a common loon from a common goldeneye, a red-necked
grebe from a redneck, or a diver from a dabbler, this course is
for you! In this gentle introduction to the more common waterfowl
found in the Keweenaw area, we´ll spend time in the classroom
learning how to identify these birds by sight and sound, then head
into the field with binoculars and spotting scopes so you can practice
identifying waterfowl on your own. Pack water, snacks, and a lunch
for the field. Bring binoculars, a good field guide, and a sense
of humor. We recommend field guides by National Geographic, Peterson,
Sibley, or Kaufman. We´ll supply several spotting scopes
for group use.
Directions will be emailed to registered participants.
